We're in the business of selling hammers. So if all the problems look like a nail that's great for our company! /S

    I wholeheartedly agree with you!

This article ruined my day when I read it in the newspaper.

Somebody does something absolutely retarded in traffic and if you criticize them you get run over.

No wonder I hate going outside.

Due to budget cuts the heat shield for re-entry was cut. Thanks to these budget cuts we gave everybody in the lower echelons of your company a big fat bonus.

We hope you have a pleasant stay in space.

The fact the family can't sue. They absolutely can (edit: in my opinion). Disney Lawyers believe they can't ( edit: in their opinion). But wether or not they can is up to a judge in this case. And not up to Disney.

So saying they can't is false until there is actual clarity.

Edit: that is my opinion of course

What could go wrong when you let an ad company dictate the browser standards/rules.

I know we have Firefox and some forks like librewolf, but percentage wise it feels like a lost battle ( even if I am on Firefox ).

If only people switched en masse to Firefox for the ad blocker. Wouldn't that be something... One big collective FU to Google.

Oh well. One can dream I guess.

They can believe all they want. Unless it's ruled and a precedent is set, the statement is false.

I hope people stop believing they have that kind of power, but decide not to do it from the goodness of their heart or bad publicity.

I should hope the actual law still has more relevance than a ToS.

That was something Disney Lawyers claimed, but was never actually agreed/enforced.

So it doesn't actually hold any weight until a court actually rules on it.

  • Has anyone added the VPN to your router, and what has the experience been like?

I use the fusion VPN function of my Asus router so new devices and specific devices can only use the VPN. Other devices can access.internet without the VPN.

It's pretty stable. I think I've had the connection ( wireguard ) drop twice so that I had to reconnect it. Not sure if that is related to the VPN on Asus though.

The reason not all devices use the VPN is because there's a bunch of streaming sites ( local ) that claim you're not in the country while the VPN is. Or it just doesn't allow you to play the videos.

I mean sure, but I think the point is that the average Joe would probably already have a collection agency harassing them while he's still in the "it's all just a misunderstanding probably. Let's just ask him again." situation

Do you mean pasting a link and proton shows it inline? Or pasting a link to an image and proton includes it as an attachment? Or something else entirely?

I also wonder what the OS is like. I need things like OxygenOS from OnePlus or something close to stock android.

All the bullshit UI from Samsung or Huawei or whatever is just atrocious. Terrible UI, no longtime support. Extra account shoehorned in.

  • Is anybody here playing cs2? The game runs natively on Linux, but its more laggy than it was on windows for me. If i run cs2 in proton it works better than natively on Linux, but I'm unable to play competitive that way. My issue is the following: the game just hangs/freezes occasionally. The duration is random. Could be 3-5 seconds, could be 10. Could be that I'd have to restart the game. This occurs sometimes in the warm up before a match or when the bomb explodes. It happens most consistently when i press the escape button in-game. I'm running it on nobara/KDE. I've got the latest graphics drivers, tried validating the game files. The game is set to run full screen ( as windowed fullscreen caps the framerate to 60, while the screen supports 144 ). I can add more hardware info if required. The PC is 4 years old so its not ancient, but also not latest and greatest ( amd CPU+nvidia rtx 2080ti ). Anybody else ran into this behaviour and ( hopefully) found a solution for it? Googling only left me with sites telling me to upgrade my gfx drivers on windows or 6 year old threads of CS:GO on windows. Switching between wayland and x11 didn't really seem to make a lot of difference. It feels a little bit better on x11, but negligible. There isnt really anything running on the backgroudn except discord. Thanks!

Hello fellow Linux gamers! I've recently switched to nobara for gaming. I've had no real issues so far and it's all running smoothly! Queue my Xbox controller. A year or two ago I bought an Xbox wireless control ( 2020 version according to the order ). Now I wanted to use the controller, but it is not being detected. The light keeps blinking. On nobara itself it looks like it mounted the dongle as a USB Stick. That would explain why the controller isn't connecting. How would I best go at tackling this? Any tips? I've already ran the following command: > nobara-controller-config This installed some drivers and required a reboot ( which I did ). Thanks in advance for any guidance or tips!

Hello all, I've recently gotten a MacBook pro at work. In the past I've mainly used Linux, so the switch isn't super drastic. I'm mainly getting used to the shortcuts. My work mainly involves DevOps related work. Things I've installed so far ( besides standard things like an IDE ): - neovim - brew - rectangle - jq / uw - docker desktop - iterm2 I have some coworkers excited about Alfred, which I have installed, but haven't really used yet. Looks like an enhanced spotlight? Any apps/tools you can recommend which makes your life easier on Macs? Hidden productivity gems?
