Ok. I guees you live somewhere, where there it is cool at night. Waterproof sheets would mean waking up in a pool in the morning here. :))

Fancy bedframes are overrated, but having a mattress on the floor is not great. It needs to breathe from the bottom. You can get or build a very cheap and functional frame, but i would advise against having your bed on the floor for a long time.

I got a new GRX, that has a dropper remote in left lever, but it takes the cable with the end. My dropper takes this end too. So I found a solution. Part of X01 chain fits on the cable very well and can be soldered on. There was not a lot of space to do this, but on 2nd try I managed to make it stay on and could not pull it off with pliers. I really hope it will stay put, because it was a PITA, but it worked. So if you run into this, you are very welcomed to steal my trick.

Had a similar problem with by bike buddies. Even tried to bribe them with beers. It ended up with me using my laptops simcard number to register whatsapp and I only use it eith this group. Everybody allways wonders, why they cannot use that number to call me. :)

If the stick went through at 35 mph it did't have time to get bloody. Also the sole would have worked as a wiper seal.

  • How long between chain waxing?
  • ro2pa9 ro2pa9 1y ago 50%

I use mucoff dry lube and wipe the chain and relube basically after every ride. It takes 30 seconds. If i ride through wet stuff or after 150km I will spin the chain in chain cleaner with warm water and soap dish, wait for it to dry and relube. I tried using heavier lubes, but I don't like how hard is it to get them off to clean the chain thoroughly even if they usually last longer. Haven't tried hot waxing, but on enduro it does not make sense and on gravel I like to get lost and ride through crap all the time, so I think it would piss me off to redo it every 400 km. ;]

What are your cycling plans for this summer?
  • ro2pa9 ro2pa9 1y ago 100%

Get on a bike. :/ About a month and a half ago I fucked up my back while helping my sister move and finished it a week later, when I thought it will be fine. Latest news are small spine disk hernia L3L4 and very large disk hernia L4L5. Still going around hospitals to see what to do next. Starting physiotherapy tomorrow. At least I can use the time at home to fix all my bikes and help my friends to fix theirs, so I don't stay too far from the group. ;] And luckily before the injury I managed to ride with my group for a week in Finale Ligure, so at least something this season.

The pub does not even see, that somebody paid with BTC, they will get their account settled in local currency.

3d printed headset and BB press
  • ro2pa9 ro2pa9 1y ago 100%

That was the idea behind the lenght of the tokens. It should press them in straight so I won't kill the frame.

    3
  • I got fed up with just a threaded rod and washers and everything going in crooked, so I designed and 3D printed adapters to use with ZS44/56 and DUB bottom bracket press. The last token works like a centering tool, so everything is going in straight. I added axial bearings, but I don't think they are neccesary. All that and I am on 40% of price of the cheapest press, that does not even have speific tokens, just a flat. 3D files here: https://www.printables.com/model/498142-headset-and-bottom-bracket-press
