Because they believe the North Pole is the center of the flat earth, I don't think this would convince him.
Taking a flight a long the southern hemisphere, though... flat earthers literally believe there are no flights between South America, southern Africa, Australia, new Zealand etc., because they're too far apart

Not to detract from a very important issue, but why does this image look like it was AI-generated?

It's born from the same idea that people will pass out Halloween candy with blades in it. Which is a thing that is everyone "knows" about but has never actually been reported to happen.

Love this. I also suspect that the correlation/causation goes both ways: trans people are more likely going to tell a friend they're trans if that person is not transphobic.

In the words of a friend who used to cheat (and now regrets it), it felt nice to actually be able to win at something when life tends to hand you so many losses.

HNC is a random name a group of friends came up with as teenagers about 20 years ago when setting up a forum. The forum is long gone, but I decided to resurrect the name and make a Lemmy instance of it
you are more than welcome, SpectralChicken! :D

You should be seeing a lot more content now than the early days. Fair warning, this does not exclude NSFW communities. Feel free to block any and all instances you don't want to see! Thanks friends!

I once had a coworker tell me he wasn't going to a company event because he "was working on saying no to things." I thought that was really cool. Not sure how well it would work though for, say, saying no to a friend's invite 🤷♂️

That's fair, it really depends on your situation!
I've been driving a plug-in hybrid (Chevy Volt) for several years, and it only gets up to 35-40 miles on electric (sidenote: newer plugin hybrids get much better ⚡ range), but that's enough for 95% of my driving. It has saved me thousands of dollars in gas over the years, helped with local pollution levels, and as far as I'm able to determine, has been better for climate change as well.
The server has now been up for 9 days, I'm just curious how many people are actually using HNC. If you see this, please do me a favor and upvote. Thank youuuu

If you haven't used Lemmy before, check out this post for an image explaining what it is: https://hoboninjachicken.com/post/1393 You will want to click "All" near the top to see posts from other instances/servers, since currently there isn't much content on the HNC instance.
