Thanks! Cant really find any passive ones for sale in my country and ordering online from amazon or ebay becomes quite expensive with shipping and taxes. I found a used surface pen on a local online market so I made a request for that. Thanks for letting me know about those, this stylus stuff is confusing....

Just a site visit as part of a larger trip in the country (some knowledge exchange stuff in a hydro power company i used to work for), so we were visiting several parts of the power plants down the Aconcagua valley among other areas. This was the highest point of that particular part of the trip.

This is so strange. I have almost been there.... on a work trip where i visited the hydro power plant just 50-100 meters down the road. Had no idea that was there...
I just bought a second-hand surface duo running android for the sole purpose of emulating nintendo ds. I want a stylus to emulate that part of the experience, but all styluses are a lot more expensive than i anticipated. But they seem to include stuff i really dont need such as bluetooth connectivity and such like. Can i just get any pointy plastic thing to use as a stylus or do i need one of these that connect to the phone?

is this intended from denuvo's side?

Perfect, thank you! I had heard about aurora, but forgot about it so thanks for reminding me
I recently got a used surface duo for the sole purpose of emulating nintendo ds and 3ds. I have retroarch running with Desmume but as far as i understand, drastic offers better performance on android. I know i can get it on the play store (for now at least), but i dont have a google account (and i will not sign up for one). I can see that there are many sites offering downloads of an .apk, but they all seem pretty shady to me. What would be the best way to get a malware-free .apk for drastic? Am i better of waiting for it to go open source and build it myself?

Yes, i'll be very weary of giving up the control I have through physical drives and jellyfin for some shiny new thing that will never last. Fool me once... etc. etc.

So i am not concerned about the way i consume the content, but i am sharing it with family and am concerned that the way they consume it can comromise me.
I.e. smart TV or apple TV phones home with "this person watched a file called The.Matrix.H264.PirateGroup.mkv from jellyfin.myserver.com"
lunsjentilanette 2mo ago • 100%
Well i am concerned about it because i am distributing it. It is my server, someone else is using it on their apple tv

Ok thanks! The price of not really knowing how things work is apparently paranoia cries in technical illiteracy

First: compromised how?
I dont want to be receiving dmca letters (or similar where i live). So I mean having access to what is being played (the names of the files would be a dead giveaway).
This is maybe a little paranoid but... i have a jellyfin server that i let some family members use. one of them intends to use an app for apple tv, which i think is swiftfin or something like that. i am a bit skeptical about smart-TVs and the data they phone home with, so i was wondering if there is any chance that i could be compromised due to the linux isos i host on jellyfin due to some sneaky smart-TV stuff?

Absolutely loved that game. Was so stoked for its release (i watched one of the trailers oh so many times in anticipation) and got it at launch (not very patient of me...) and was not let down at all.

Recently played through Skies of arcadia on Gamecube (emulation). Always wanted to play as a kid, but for some reason i never bought it even though i actively saved up for it at one point. Was fun but wow am i glad i emulated it, because they do NOT respect your time. Being able to use save slots and to fast forward over the long battle animations (i skipped 8 hrs of that in total...) was essential for me actually playing through it.

Same here. Maybe that explains it, all linux users just run multiple systems. I dont know many people who use linux certainly not every third person I meet.

When i first started as a kid, i just wanted games, shows, movies and music without having to pay for it, as i would not be able to afford it all. First movies from P2P-clients like napster, kazaa and limewire. My older brother taught me what i needed to know to get started with torrenting later, and i built up a great ratio on 3-4 private trackers to get what i needed. This continued until soptify and netflix came along and i had some more cash on hand. The initial service was good enough for me to stop pirating.
So after about a decade of being a landlubber, i started pirating again. The services are fragmented, they treat you like shit and using any of their services is a privacy nightmare. As this dawned on me, i regretted having ever stopped pirating, because now i barely had any stuff at all. I didnt own a thing, and i did not like it. So now i had to spend a lot of time building up a library from (almost) scratch. I have a jellyfin-server running at home with about 600 movies and some of my old favorite shows, while also picking up some of the new stuff that i want. I dont have to sit thru all the bullshit on netflix to find a show/movie i like anymore, and the experience is pure bliss in comparison. Still lacking a bit in the music department, but that is also growing and i again enjoy some of the music i listened to before that is not available on spotify. I dont exclusively pirate though, i purchase some music of bandcamp, games of gog (and steam) and audiobooks of libro.fm.
Next time there is an enticing offer that does not involve downloadable drm-free files, im not falling for it. Fool me once etc etc

Thanks for the tip! I've always found Usenet to look too complicated with too high a cost for my rather limited use. But I keep seeing it recommended, so maybe I should give it a go at some point.
What is considered the best/safest way to pirate printed magazines? On the Awesome Piracy-repo, there are some links, but they either don't work or look sus (except for maybe magazinelib.com). If you endulge in free printed magazines, what is your preferred way?
