Tim Pool: I'm supposed to be the boot, not the one getting booted!
  • luchuan luchuan 4w ago 100%

It does from time to time. You'll see "pushed" (ie really good and hard to get) cards come out and enjoy their time and then either they get banned or the synergistic cards that make them format warping get banned.

I don't even mind that aspect of the product cycle that much. I enjoy they competitive aspect and some strategies can and will be better than others.

But the cards that define the format being inaccessible AND this type of product design that's endemic to the CCG business model really sucks. And IRL play is so much better than sims, especially if you're trying to improve at the game too.

I hate the business model of these card games. The gameplay is usually pretty good and the competitive aspect is nice. But the competitive chase cards being at predatory distributions in the product really turned me off to the whole thing.

Days after the attack, in October 2022, Germany’s foreign secret service received a second tipoff about the Ukrainian plot from the CIA, which again passed on a report by the Dutch military intelligence agency MIVD. It offered a detailed account of the attack, including the type of boat used and the possible route taken by the crew, according to German and Dutch officials.

Oh ya the CIA totally didn't plan it. They just caught wind of it and asked for the plug to be pulled but only told foreign interference agencies afterwards.

It's a comedy of errors for sure. I remember reading a while ago that the people with the skills and degrees to work these chip fab jobs are getting peeled off to just write javascript for the same or greater pay and a fraction of the effort too. You can't even just try to break these labor aristocrats because they will just write javascript instead. And the javascript developers shit out labor discipline software. So just like cops they get disproportionate pay to everyone around them for protecting capital.

  • luchuan luchuan 3mo ago 100%

I'm surprised they're turning on him and raising the issue at all. He didn't seem substantially worse than his 2020 campaign run and Axios (I think) had already floated the "staffers privately tell us he's senile" piece earlier in his term but it didn't seem to stick. His current state can't be a surprise to power brokers so why hang him out to dry now?

I suspect they're trying to avoid a primary. The 2020 election showed the average democrat voter is too dumb to pick up on media hints to the insiders' favorite candidate and the average well-established democrat is too greedy and delusional of their own personal brand recognition to step aside. The pipeline of "chosen ones" that can be legitimized without much pushback at the convention seems empty.
