These maps and statistics are always such absurdly obvious propaganda. It's really impressive that most people see this and just believe it. Confirmation bias is really scary isn't it? People want it to be true so they believe it.

Without context this is really not a good idea, I first thought lemmygrad.ml was hacked and I think I’m not the only one who misinterpreted it.

Matrix is bloatware.
The resource consumption for chat rooms is absolutely ridiculous compared to XMPP and IRC. It's so bad that I now believe the protocol is inherently flawed or absolutely unsuitable for realtime messaging.
- XMPP: Good mature protocol but poor client ecosystem.
- Matrix: Unsuitable protocol for realtime messaging with relatively good client ecosystem.

You are aware that besides Gandhi there was a lot of violent protest?
Only violent protest makes the demands of the nonviolent acceptable to the ruling class. Without a violent part of a movement, the demands of the nonviolent are always ignored. Which is perfectly logical, because why accept the demands of someone you can ignore without consequences.

Now is absolutely not the time to give up on democracy.
No one wants to give up democracy, we just recognize that liberal bourgeois democracy only serves to create an illusion of democratic voice. The only interests taken into account in the so-called modern "democracies" are those of capital, and that is no democracy at all.> Now is absolutely not the time to give up on democracy.

Is this to be Lemmy’s future? I think that we don't have to worry much about this.
The fact that lemmy is open source will ensure that sooner or later someone will develop a solution to the problem if it gets too bad.
The motivation of the lemmy developers is actually to develop a good platform. Unlike reddit where the only and sole motivation is money, that makes a huge difference.

It's kind of terrible that you have to argue like that. I mean shouldn't the very fact that you can be born blind be a great argument for accessibility?
After all, any of them could have drawn that number in the birth lottery.
