Pretty basic KDE!

We don't usually use a transparent terminal, but I didn't want to cover up the 「霜の狼」 on the desktop. :3 I drew the wallpaper myself, of myself! This is our laptop. Our desktop is pretty similar but can't use a sidebar dock, since it's got screens to the left and right. -- Frost

We can't set an avatar for ourselves! It gives this error: `{"data":{"msg":"exiftool Failed with signal: 13 (SIGPIPE)","files":null},"state":"success"}` Update: This applies to all images, not just account pictures. Also the community icon on the right is broken, too! -- Frost

Our right alt key is used as altgr, so we have to use that one for "third level" special characters, and the left alt for shortcuts! It's rather annoying; I kind of miss the Mac way of doing it where both alts were for both special characters and shortcuts.

  • To trans furries out there, how much does being a furry relates to your gender?
  • forestbeasts forestbeasts 1y ago 50%

I'm actually transspecies, instead of gender – and being a wolf does affect my gender, too. I'm male in a wolf way, not in a human way. 🐺

    [feral here!]

Stripped laptop screw, tried cutting a slot with a dremel, botched it. Any ideas?

Ooh thanks! We'd need a drill to use that though, right?

Hmm. We don't actually have a drill, and it looks rather expensive (by our standards) to get one.

    Poop.

But there's a makerspace somewhat nearby and I bet they have drills. Maybe they even have a screw extractor set on hand. We should pop over there.

Not sure if this is the place for hardware repair stuff, but can't find a community for that, so... yeah. ![Busted screw](https://pawb.social/pictrs/image/a3f5d5ca-8e78-4f8a-bd7d-d0e6e87a9e13.jpeg) It looks like the dremel slot is too wide for a screwdriver to catch on. (And also ow, marred the back panel. Not much we can do about that.) Might try the rubber band thing? That's another trip to the store, but fortunately rubber bands are pretty cheap... (the laptop works fine, we just want to upgrade the SSD) -- Frost
