I’ve recently been fascinated by lichen. I never knew they are a symbiosis of fungi and algae!

I’ve been interested in Zettelkasten for a few years, since I discovered Obsidian, but I’ve never been able to quite get the hang of it enough to make it stick

Does a Boox send data back to Google? Is the bootloader unlocked? I’ve been trying to move away from Google products due to privacy concerns, like looking at a Fairphone so I can run LineageOS instead of stock Android. I don’t want to swap one big tech company for another when I ditch my Kindle if I don’t have to.

I think you’re totally on point! I think that’s similar with other religious or spiritual practices, like specific meditations, spells, or rituals - you’re priming yourself to be more aware of opportunities to achieve that goal

There was (is?) a subreddit called /r/onebag that might be like this. It was sort of minimalism taken to the extreme of condensing your possessions to a single bag. Definitely some overlap with the digital nomad community too
Obviously, it’s essential to avoid the worst consequences of climate change, but was there a specific book, event, or experience that catalyzed you?

I think it’s a good idea for partners to have their own dedicated space that they can decorate for themselves and keep their hobbies in. It helps keep the rest of the house tidy and allows for a little bit of a personal safe haven. Obviously, the traditional conception of a ‘man cave’ isn’t great, but I think that there is a way it can be approached non-toxically

Yoga. It’s a great way to start the week off on the right foot by dedicating some time to taking care of myself, and nice slow stretch feels really good

I’m mostly interested in the novelty of a printed printer, it seems like a fun project. I’m all ears for recommendations of more modern or good starter RepRap designs though!
compostgoblin 4mo ago • 100%
No particular reason. I am most interested in a project with a high proportion of printed material to purchased material, but I don’t know the best way to find a modern design like that. Do you have any recommendations?

I use Inoreader to read RSS feeds of my favorite sources, and I save interesting articles to Pocket. I use the tagging feature and sync my Pocket entries to an Obsidian vault using an extension. It creates a web of information I found valuable enough to save, connected by tag. It helps me see trends and topics I’m interested in emerge over time
