I'm somewhat surprised by the result if I'm honest. I have switched to wireless and won't go back at all. I do understand the use case for those who want them too but I did not realise it was such a popular request in modern phones!

Put yourself 'out there' more. Friends are very unlikely to fall into your lap. Don't shy away from get togethers that you usually would and you'll likely find people that you gel with. Work is a good place to make friends and you can branch out from there. Pre-established friend groups are also nice to get in on. Other than that, regular activities are good (gym, classes, volunteering etc) there are nice people everywhere (just avoid the dicks)

I'm reading The Passage by Justin Cronin. It's great. It feels like many books in one book. A very enjoyable, though slightly jarring read. I'm looking forward to the next books in the series.

This is so sad, yet unsurprising. Fuel is big business... Big business is a controlling interest in politics. Until we tear down, it will not change. I hate to be sinical but optical "change" is all most politicians care about. It's all about promising enough for re-election.

Your post is the catalyst of me leaving this community. I haven't really paid all that much attention to the workings of the community but after having a scroll through, echo chamber seems pretty accurate and I'm not going to be a part of it.
I get that everyone is angry with LMG but honestly, a lot of people need to chill out about the whole thing. I'm not often in the practice of comparative advocating, but seriously... Regarding the the work environment, it is pretty common in this space, the errors are relatively small. Madison's claims are extremely serious and should be treated as such but it seems like as soon as anything came out, everyone was so quick to brigade against something they enjoyed not 5 minutes before? People are running this business and they are going to make mistakes but that is okay.
Above all else, LMG, LTT and Linus himself do not owe you anything. I know people don't like hearing it because they want to feel like they're getting more from their 'relationship' with these YouTube based organisations, but they really don't. Many people I've seen are saying things like 'we deserve better' and I'm conscious that actually, you deserve nothing. What they choose to put out is up to them, not you. If you don't like it, don't partake.

If people would interact with others as they would do face to face. For whatever reason, we are so quick to forget the person at the other end. You'll see people complain or discuss real people with literally no empathy and it can be mind boggling at times.

I used to work in the catering industry and have seen almost every chef use it interchangeably with cream when they needed plant based options. It works great
Happy to buy hardware if needed. Just trying to avoid large streaming services abhorrent business practices.

Knew nothing, still don't know a lot and had a hell of a time signing up but it seems to be getting better and growing. I'm trying to be more active to help out with growth but I'm not that guy.

I've not thought about this for a few years but yes. When I was a boy, I used to have a recurring dream of myself climbing this surreal-y tall climbing frame type thing. It was in an empty field. It had four repeating sections like a rope swing, rotating bridge, thick net, monkey bars, climbing wall etc. Stuff you'd typically find on an assault course or game show. It was even padded with the foam and vinyl you find in kids' play areas. I'd have that dream most nights and would always fall out of the thing after 2-10 sections had been climbed. Well, I had resigned myself to continually climbing this thing each night and being awoken once a night as I hit the floor after falling. I'd always start at the height I fell from the previous night but progress felt minimal. Then, I finally reached the top. I remember looking around this field atop this ridiculously tall structure and feeling this great accomplishment. I genuinely couldn't, and still can't, believe that I got to the top. There was a massive slide from the top. I don't think I could properly express just how long this was from the height. I rode it down and that was the last time I dreamed of it. I kind of miss that dream.

There have been a few excellent videos by 'Real Reporter' on YT about this topic too. Many of the companies that supposedly stopped trading in Russia simply started selling products through an intermediary and continued supply in the same stores. Capitalism and corporate greed is terrible.

This is exactly the reason I left too. In a way I feel a little sad for the loss of the community but generally it has become something different to what it once was anyway.
