I recommend it. It’s a great smartphone frontend. Still missing some small features, but super great usability.

Brilliant. i think both were fixed with the ansible update. Thanks for helping out phoenix!
Not sure if you are also knowledgeable about wefwef, I have another question: I have installed wefwef on my host. Works great! Except I can’t get watchtower to update it. I have to do a manual restart of the wefwef constrained every time. I’ve tried to increase the wait time, but no luck. Any tips?

Seconding long press to switch accounts!
So, just spun up my own instance using the ansible method on debian 12, to see how this federated system works. It worked flawlessly (after some trouble with installing docker through ansible on debian). My instance federates, and I can log in without a problem with the browsers on my computer. Edit: I'm on UI: v0.17.3 BE: 0.17.3. But when I try to log in on my iPhone—firefox, safari, chrome (all webkit)—the login button just spins and I am never logged on. It's weird because I can log in to lemmy.ml with my phone, but not to my new instance. I have checked ngnix logs, but can't see anything obvious. I changed my password to something without weird characters. Any tips on what to have a look at next?

Spot on analysis. The convenience of staying must be beat out by the new tool. I remember when myspace was killed when facebook came. The annoyance of everything being customized was beat by facebooks neatness. Finally all my relatives could find the buttons. Apollo was soooo convenient on reddit. I'm hoping he'll port it to the fediverse, that would be the killer app for me.

Yeah! I’m a little sad how resilient these toxic media companies are. Meta, twitter, Reddit, etc are really not good for humanity. But I guess humanity has always been toxic to itself.
