Why are they so hard to photograph?! Check out her iridescent feathers.

I have no idea. We got her from our local feed store selling Meyer’s Hatchery chicks. Based on the breeds they were selling, she’s supposed to be a Rhode Island Red or a Buckeye. There may have been a mixup, but I can’t find any good matches on their website. Also, we don’t have any other surprise beauties (out of 8).

Agreed! Since the important info is on the left side (votes, date, etc), community should be there too. Usernames are less important and this orientation forces you to alternate which side of the page you’re looking at while scrolling.

You left out the update from AITA where there’s a crazy plot twist, OP becomes the hero, and everyone claps.

I couldn’t think of a better first post than this 9/11 wizard. Did he make the towers fall? Was he trying to protect them? I have so many questions.

What happens to your stomach in a hot dog eating contest?
  • SweatyCheese SweatyCheese 1y ago 100%

“The control subject ate seven hot dogs before he felt sick and needed to stop. At the 10-minute mark, the competitive speed eater had ingested 36 hot dogs; researchers asked him to stop because they were worried for him.”

What a day to be a scientist.

While it sounds like you’ve been pretty lucky, keep in mind that the prevalence of Lyme disease has grown significantly over the past few decades

I’m not familiar with F1 at all, so apologies for the possibly dumb questions: Is it normal to race in the rain? And how wet does it have to be for them to reschedule or stop a race?

  • SweatyCheese SweatyCheese 1y ago 100%

I wonder how long regrowth will take. Adult teeth come in around 6 months after losing your baby teeth, but they’ve been growing for a while before that. You start forming your adult teeth at 4 months in utero.

  • I’m really hoping the Lemmy community reaches its potential! But to achieve that, I realize it’s important to contribute to the content. As a chronic Reddit lurker, I’m going to do my best to comment and post to help this platform grow. It’s hard to break the habit of being a creepy voyeur after 10 years. Wish me luck!
