Unpopular opinion, but I always find this kind of thing funny. US is damned if you do, damned if you don't.

We get involved, we're imperialist swine that only care about our interests.

We don't, and are scrutinized for letting bad things happen.

I have enough in my emergency fund that if I lost my job I'd be ok for about a year.

I'm nearly to my goal, after that I'm going to change my focus to expanding my portfolio.

Still no way I can buy a house though. Need to make about 3x more money for that to happen.

I credit it to having a property owner that's kept rent cheap and having low overhead, and being frugal borderline cheap.

Unless the driver wasn't insured properly, Taxis cover your bodily injuries in an accident. They should have no medical bills associated with it, and the article is kinda vague on that. If anything they should be taking this up with the insurance company. Unless the driver wasn't insured properly, and Uber didn't do their diligence then yeah it's on Uber.

This seems like these people are trying to sue for more than that though?

Do i believe that Uber is being shady trying to pull some garbage about a separate TOS, yeah that's shady. They should take it to the next level of appellate courts, which I believe would be the Supreme Court now.

Though this isn't apples to apples of the Disney thing.

I did watch the video. It's why I asked. Anyone can say they are a consultant, and he doesn't really mention much to back that claim. He doesn't say anything novel either.

I'm not trying to be hypercritical, but if someone says that they are a credible source I want to know why.

Who is this guy and why should I care what he says?

Edit: Since no one could answer it. He's an indie developer and made a few games. Silver Falls, Clasherball, and Animelee. He also says he's a consultant, based on the video, but I couldn't find anything of him doing that.

So he's slightly a step above a regular guy making some video complaining.

Hashkully, the Byzantine Empire never existed. It was always the Eastern Roman Empire.

It was recoined as the Byzantine Empire after the fall of Constantinople from the Ottoman Empire in the 1400s by Renaissance scholars a few hundred years later.

They changed the history books when they wanted to make a distinction from the ancient Roman Empire from the very different but still same Roman Empire that fell not long before them, because the western Romans were considered pagans, and the East were Christians.

It was called the Byzantine Empire because the city that existed before Constantinople, was called Byzantium. Which was the new Roman capital when Emperor Constantine seized power, who was the first Christian Roman Emperor.

Maybe in large encampments but from my daily experience of watching a never ending battle from the police and a homeless spot they typically don't do that. They just tell them to leave, but they just come back eventually.

Everyday I walk by a spot where homeless congregate. At the beginning of the week there a few rambling around. By EOW there are 30 just sleeping coming down from their high or smoking meth. The cops come, tell them to leave, then it starts all over again.

They aren't exactly bothering anybody other than the smell and that the city has to power wash the parking structure on a weekly basis because they all piss and shit in it.

Look I care for these people, I'm not trying to sound all NIMBY here, but these are the type of people who don't want help. They want to stay in their hole. The only assistance you can give these people other than abducting them and put them in a facility, is to tell them to leave and go to a shelter. Addiction is a mother fucker, and the only disease you can get yelled at for.
