If I purchase a flat outright, will a bank give me a personal loan (eg $50k) using the flat as collateral?
  • NeedAnotherOne NeedAnotherOne 3mo ago 100%

When you say outright you have, for example 450k for a 500k apartment? If that is the case then you just need to get a mortgage for the difference and be done with it. With that much of a deposit I didn't think they would see it as much of a risk, but who knows. A mortgage will be much lower interest than a personal loan. Also have you factored in all of the extras... legals, stamp duty, etc etc.

  • NeedAnotherOne NeedAnotherOne 1y ago 100%

Yah all good questions and good responses. Suspend is great for this handheld, but as @PlasticExistence@beehaw.org mentions linux isn't great at suspend out of the box and having a very configurable embedded system like the steamdeck lumps it in this basket.

I got one of amazon.com.au in June. The price was pretty much the same as the direct conversion from USD, and it got delivered the next day. Obv a 3rd party seller but have been super happy with the purchase.

  • NeedAnotherOne NeedAnotherOne 1y ago 100%

I think a lot of the 'customer owned' banks are usually good, they can be regional based as well. IE for Newcastle area Greater Bank and Newcastle Permanent Buildng Society both have lots of branches and good customer support for local. I used to like StGeorge until Westpac took them over, went downhill after that

Yeah I'm keeping an eye out for that, wondering if the company I switched to (Red Energy) is gonna jack their prices to make them above my previous (momentum). Suprisingly they havent sent out a welcome pack yet, usually it's pretty quick to lock you in, so I'm wondering if they are in the midst of price jacking

Got a perfect round , much thanks to the refs on that last game :-) Time to start checking the run home for em all now, nothing but injuries or suspensions should get in the way now. I think we've had all the coach sackings for the year surely.

Roosters surpass 20k members for first time ever????
  • NeedAnotherOne NeedAnotherOne 1y ago 100%

Ya was funny, after Roosters crowed about 20k the Swans sent out an email about 62k. AFAIK AFL memberships are quite varied and different, giving a lot more options / affordability.

Find this hard to believe, I expected they must have broken through 30k at some point over the years. Maybe outside of the Eastern Suburbs they dont have too many supporters, or the Easterm Suburbs people dont even join up? Dolphins sent out an email in June saying they have 28.5k members already.

Brisbane Airport cancels plans for billion-dollar auto mall and motor circuit
  • NeedAnotherOne NeedAnotherOne 1y ago 100%

Agreed, especially since a stock EV is already fairly fast. Most manufacturers are releasing performance variants as well with extra grunt and better handling. Also the EV manufacturers are more aligned to automall / online selling (Tesla, polestar,Hyundai), missed opportunity there for them. With the fed gov removal of FBT on sub 90k EV's fleet / novated lease companies are also prime for an automall.

    https://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au/

https://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au/ My current provider, like all of them, jacked up my leccy prices in July, but a bit too far for my liking. The Gov comparison site, which I used last time, is still pretty good and you dont need to give your data to private corps lile iselect / meerkat. Hopefully a considerable saving on the new provider, but sill not as cheap as last years prices.
