To their defense, if there's a sudden collapse, there will likely a surplus of oil laying around that will be available for a while.

I felt this in a river. I don't know if it's possible for a river to stratify.

I remember hearing a YouTuber (Shadiversity) say Minas Tirith is unrealistic as a city.

I'm aware. It's hard for me to navigate anthropology though. I can find some info on the Web, but I don't really know what to look for, with books.

I don't know, I don't think of sex as chilling. Just like I don't see sport as chilling. Chilling should be more calm and less purpose-driven.

That's an interesting question. I can't even imagine it was hunger as even kgs of green leaves won't satiate a family's hunger. Maybe it was an attempt at checking if the plant could cure when cooked? Maybe it was believed that all stinging and poisonous plants had magical properties? Who knows.

That's how I figured which was which (I don't have the ability to quickly figure out left from right like most people have, so that left me time to play at guessing).

Interesting. AI knows the surface of Mars, so it paints it red, but it doesn't know its inside, and doesn't understand it should be the same color.

I do the same when I want to start working on any task but it seems daunting or boring and I procrastinate. I just do the first step, like "ok just open the task's description, read it and try to understand the context". By the time I did this, I have no difficulty moving to the next step.

Wow, that's terrifying!
I was wondering if we have older metalheads here? I've been educating myself on the history of metal, and that made me wonder if anyone here is much older than I am (early thirties here) and has seen some of that history. How did you get into metal? How old were you? Any interesting experience you'd like to share? Things that have changed? How were metal and metalheads perceived where you lived?
Hey, I'm generally more into melodeath, power metal, folk metal, and epic heavy metal. I sometimes listen to black metal, but I'm not a big fan of it. Unless it's blackened something (death, folk...) But some black metal songs are something else for me. [Keys to the Astral Gates and Mystic Doors]( https://emptypitrecordings.bandcamp.com/album/keys-to-the-astral-gates-and-mystic-doors) This one has absolutely beautiful dungeon synth over the raw black metal, and I love it. [Winter Lantern - Elven Blood]( https://winterlantern.bandcamp.com/album/elven-blood) Listen to "Her Body Broken in the Bloody Snow". This one also has excellent dungeon synth, together with black metal. Very good songs, their only flaw, which pisses me to no end, is the unnecessary effect on the vocals. Now that I'm typing it out, I guess that what I'm looking for are bands that put emphasis on dungeon synth, but are still metal? But how do I look for more? Is there even a genre that I can search to find more of that? I don't know subgenres of BM well (sorry, I'm definitely not trve kvlt enough), I tried: - Raw BM: this sounds to be typical raw production second wave like Mayhem - Melodic BM: seems like pure melodic BM (without death, or punk, etc.) hardly exist. Found good bands, but not what I'm looking for - USBM: generally not what I'm looking for - Lofi BM: might be the best match? Found [Nihilitic Depths - Beneath Forgotten Ruins]( https://nihilithicdepths.bandcamp.com/album/beneath-forgotten-ruins) which is quite similar, but bands described lofi BM don't always correspond Any help is welcome. Suggestions of bands or albums welcome too. After all, there might not be a name for that. Thanks
