I (Brazilian) told my fiance (German) that the EU is "A Colony Plus," in the sense they're also allowed to exploit other poorer nations, but will be thrown under the bus when convenient - as what happened with Nordstream showed him. Unlike my country and others, which are just a colony/backyard (some trying to break their chains and getting punished for it).

I suppose it is a case of projection, since their own countries do it with minorities such as Asians.

Under the European Union’s newly enacted Digital Services Act, TikTok must monitor and remove illegal content such as terrorist content or illegal hate speech.
So, they admit there is legal hate speech.

To put it in a very venal metaphor: Canada apologizing for doing it again is just like my father's father apologizing to him and my grandmother every time he got drunk and hit them - only to do it again.

Glad to see you also made this distinction. Still, it saddens me when I see victims of propaganda siding with their oppressors - and a lot of them are so deep in denial they simply do not accept any contrarian facts... but I digress.
However, to a point, I think the elites have started to believe their own propaganda.

This kind of mental gymnastics and denial reminds me of the Bloggs couple from the movie When The Wind Blows.

After getting turned down so many times - and having NATO encroach upon Russia and treat them as enemies even with all his attempts to collaborate with them in the 90s and 2000s, I'd argue that he realized there is nothing to be gained in that field. So might as well try to get closer to the other people rejected by the West. Even if it means befriending commies in the international politics field.

"Never celebrate a victory until you're standing over the podium," was something my mother would say.
Saying "the West is done", just like the "dead horse" that is Communism (that, while "being done," still terrifies the imperialists to beat this supposed dead horse) is not prudent. They've gotten out of tough spots before, so we must first watch and wait.

I'll keep it short and simple: one thing that I was discussing with my fiance, about the hostilities in Ukraine, is that, apparently, Western nations are refraining from sending more modern weapons to help Kiev's regime precisely because they're aware the Russians would capture them and, soon enough, there'd be both counter-measures for those plus suspiciously similar designs appearing in Russia and, mayhaps, China. Or would that be too difficult to happen? What are your thoughts?
