Hi all. In recent months, I've been donating blood through Canadian Blood Services. I recently got an email from them saying that currently they're at their lowest level of donators in a decade, and I was hoping to maybe give a shout and encourage those able to donate to do so. Cheers!

Tried it, didn't quite work as expected.

Libertarian Socialist, though I might be a bit further left than that considering some of the ideas I have. I just find myself agreeing with Kyle Kulinski a lot since he seems to be the most agreeable and honest political commentator I know, and I've found other good channels through word of mouth from him.

I used to use Reddit through throwaway accounts. Was never a regular user, and moved away from it over a year ago now. Just stopped posting to socials a lot.
Mental health has gotten better, and I've been more active here than I ever was on Reddit because I just enjoy the vibes the place gives me overall.

I'm not a crypto person, but there is https://monero.town if you're into that.

As if she's not one herself? The majority of her votes in office were in conjunction with Trump's agenda.

Oh God, that's awful. Thanks for the context.

Would probably be a good idea to place it in a museum with proper context. Doesn't seem too large based on the photos.
Like I'm of the opinion that while having these statues out in the public eye (as in, in a park or whatever) is wrong as it sets the wrong idea for what's considered accepted by the community, I also don't think destroying the piece is a good idea since you lose the entire idea of what it represents, which eventually leads to people forgetting and repeating those behaviours.

Found it about a year ago after looking for social media alternatives that respect privacy and are open-source. Mainly lurked for a while, but then decided to try and get some communities active here. about two or three weeks back.
Just happened to be a coincidence everything going on with Reddit started occurring shortly after.

Hate to break it to you, but Rayark replaced it's art department with AI, so I wouldn't support them.
Arcaea is good though from what I know, and if not that, there's also opsu! and the osu! lazer port for android.

I want to get into the pixel art space. I've heard of some tools a friend uses, but I'd prefer to use something open-source if possible. What are some of the best options available?

I should probably get one seeing how I often end up just hugging the blanket when I sleep.

Been thinking about getting the McCain smile fries at the store for a while now. Do you ever get weird looks from the cashier, or do they not care?

I was really bummed out when I developed lactose intolerance, but I was shocked by how good the Silk Dark Chocolate soy one was.
Also found some brands sell it lactose free here, but unfortunately they're harder to come across in stores.

I've been thinking about getting some stuff from my childhood again. I recently watched We're Back on YouTube and while the movie is not great, it has a great charm, which has been making me think of getting the VHS tapes I used to have as a kid.
Aside from that movie, I'm also thinking of getting The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars, Anastasia, The Jungle Book, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Current mod hasn't been active in two years. I'm hoping on making the community a bit more active with related memes, discussion topics, and introducing a-spec people I know to the community. Post: https://lemmy.ml/post/1232604
I'm wanting to create a new community here on Lemmy, but I'm worried that it won't gain any traction unless I advertise it a little bit. Is there a community where people can advertise newly made communities?
Flashpoint is joining many other communities on Reddit by going dark in protest to the newly proposed API changes. To anybody who has come here from Reddit during the blackout, welcome! We hope that you'll enjoy the Lemmy community, and we encourage you to stay as we continue to grow our presence here.
We've just created a new Mastodon account on the Fosstodon instance! We plan on posting regularly there about web games and project updates, and are looking forward to seeing you there!
Hi! I have recently been trying to revive the Alberta community here. It was started by crackmacs three years ago, and while they're well known in the Alberta digital space, they haven't posted in three years now. I'm unsure if it's just because of the growth Lemmy is seeing right now, but I'm happy to see that the community has increased from 5 to 9 subscribers since I started posting news stories from my RSS feed reader. Here's an example of what I've been posting as of late: https://lemmy.ml/post/1166193
