Vinyl Records

I don't usually buy records online, as I like the hunt of trying to find the records physically, but when a deal calls, I'll take it. The deal for today came in the form of some UK 45s that I got for the equivalent of $3 each. I got 5 original UK press Beatles singles with the original Parlophone sleeve and a copy of the Beat's Tears of A Clown/Ranking Full Stop single in a 2-tone sleeve. All of the records are in VG+ condition. > > > > I don't usually buy Beatles records, as they don't interest me too much in comparison to other bands of the period, but it's still cool to have the original documents of Beatlemania in their complete form. Overall, I'm happy to get these records and add them to the UK originals pile. Although, if I were able to get some 60s US Rolling Stones picture sleeves, I'd be a very happy camper.

To continue my finds from the flea market from this weekend, I was able to grab some more very good records from the same bin that I found the Captain Beefheart records from my post from yesterday. Again, this person had some eccentric taste, so I was able to pull out some real gems from the batch. The craziest find from these other records has to be the Fripp and Eno No Pussyfooting record, as I've never see this record anywhere in my time collecting, and wouldn't expect to in the US. The other records that I got were good as well, as I got the first Roxy Music album and David Bowie's Scary Monsters. All and all, these records were also $5 apiece to get, which I was more than happy to get these records for.

Ive been using a Microlinear AT VM540ML Cartridge & Stylus for about 8 months now and ive found them to be not only very fragile in that trying to clean it is almost impossible without bending it slightly. The sheer amount of fluff they attract is a massive amount from seemingly new vinyl. They are also extremely likely to pick every pop and click up from the record. So ive got used to it as long as It isnt loud when the music is on.

I have a huge problem. I want to listen to my vinyl records but at the same time i want to keep them in mint condition to preserve their value. I couldn't find a solid answer but if i take good care of my vinyls could they be as nearly as valuable as unopened vinyls? **How do you deal with this dilemma of wanting to preserve a record’s value while also wanting to enjoy and listen to it?**

I like collecting Marvin Gaye records, especially singles, and I've been trying to get any albums that I don't have from him. I was happy to then find a copy of his classic album Here My Dear (AKA the TMI divorce album) for only $2. it's cool that i was able to come across this album, as I've found it hard to find some of Marvins records in the wild. Overall, I am quite happy to expand upon my Marvin Gaye albums. > > > >

The turntable in question is a heavily modified Thorens, purchased from a radio station in the mid 2000s. I tried to keep it as original as possible. The only thing replaced was the arm. Edit: [Link](https://www.vinylengine.com/library/thorens/td524.shtml) the table that was used as a base for the broadcasting turntable.

I got the rt82 for the option of upgrading along with great reviews. I chose the pp444 preamp since i hear its a good budget preamp and also heard its more forgiving to use a cheap preamp with good quality speakers. That said, what are some recommendations for a budget pair of speakers that will be good enough show the difference in listening to vinyl and digital music?

I started collecting almost 3 years ago when I kept popping into a record store [@waxandbeans](https://cupoftea.social/@waxandbeans). Couldnt afford a decent turntable until recently though so I waited. Money was all over the place so I bought and sold but Ive got back all the ones I sold. For me its a combination of the sound quality and The local community on it. But what got you into Vinyl ?
