Hi! You may not be aware of this but Lemmy doesn't downscale images for you, you have to do it yourself. Right now, everyone who visits this community is downloading a 3.5MB 4K photo. This goes for photos you post, too, so mobile users with limited data might not be particularly happy with you. I'm not from Manchester but I'm not a million miles away, happy to chip in when I can. :)

I know there's more than one Manchester community set up on the threadiverse (as I've heard it called) already but I've yet to see a single post on either of them, yet. I'm sure this might befall the same fate but it feels the like best home for a Manchester community is in a Manchester instance. So feel free to post your Manchester news, thoughts, questions and let's build something!
