Jeffrey Ferguson, the Orange County judge who allegedly texted a confession to court staffers after killing his wife in front of their son, made a mumbling drunken confession to responding Anaheim police officers captured on bodycam video and asked them to shoot him, according to court filings. The son who allegedly witnessed the shooting told investigators his parents had been fighting for most of the evening and that his father was drinking heavily. "The shooting stemmed from an argument that began earlier that same evening," prosecutors wrote in a bail motion. "While arguing at dinner (at a restaurant nearby their residence), Defendant pointed his finger at his wife…in a manner mimicking a firearm." The arguing continued at home, and Sheryl Ferguson told her husband, "Why don't you point a real gun at me?" prosecutors alleged. That's when Ferguson is accused of pulling a .40-caliber Glock pistol out of an ankle holster and firing a single shot through his wife's chest. "He shot her at close range," Deputy District Attorney Chris Alex wrote in a bail motion. "He did so while intoxicated. His adult son witnessed the homicide." Their son called 911 and attempted CPR, but she died from her injuries. "Shortly after Son's 911 call, Defendant himself called 911 to report (vaguely) that his wife had been shot," prosecutors wrote. "When asked whether he shot his wife, Defendant responded that he did not want to talk about it now."

The mother of a man accused of murder in the Florida panhandle is now also behind bars after police discovered text messages allegedly showing her help plan the shooting death of a woman working inside The Home Depot. Keith Agee, 20, was arrested by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office Friday afternoon in connection with the deadly shooting of 18-year-old Brooklyn Sims hours earlier at the home improvement retailer on Davis Highway in Pensacola. Police did not share the relationship between Agee and Sims, but Pensacola news outlet WEAR said the two have a 2-year-old daughter together. The sheriff's office revealed Monday night that Agee's 50-year-old mother, Sheila, was involved in planning the targeted attack. "According to text messages, it’s clear that Keith Agee’s mother, Sheila Agee, knew and participated in the plan to kill Brooklyn Sims. Additionally, text messages between mother and son highlight the mother’s involvement in helping locate the victim," the ECSO wrote on Facebook.

The encounter was caught on video from a West Chesterfield neighborhood home during a break in the girl’s online class. The microphone was muted on the girl’s computer but the camera was on as a handful of other students were logged in to the Google Meets session. The teacher was working on a different computer during the pause in class when she heard two other students say, "What is going on? What is happening?" When the teacher opened the screen back into her online class, she saw the 7-year-old girl with her pants pulled down and Walls forcing her to perform oral sex, prosecutors said. The teacher reported what she saw to the school’s principal, who called the girl’s family, Chicago police and authorities from Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. The girl had been staying at their grandmother’s home during the school day.

A second underage girl has been linked to rumors of an inappropriate relationship with Rays star Wander Franco in his native Dominican Republic, according to the Dominican newspaper Diario Libre The publication cited a connection in the Attorney General’s office in Bani, Franco’s hometown. Diario Libre reports the complaint against Franco, 22, was filed by a 17-year-old girl in July. Franco, an All-Star shortstop this season, has been away from the team since Sunday after social media posts alleged he was involved with a teenage girl. Diario Libre makes a point of clarifying that the underage girl who filed the complaint in July is different than the one reportedly linked to Franco’s alleged social media posts that triggered MLB’s investigation. The Attorney General’s office told the AP on Monday that it was investigating the matter. On Sunday, Franco appeared to deny the allegations circulating on social media in a video on Instagram Live, according to the Tampa Bay Times. “They say that I’m in public with a little girl, that I’m running around with a minor,” Franco said in the social media video in Spanish. “People don’t know what to do with their time. They don’t know what they’re talking about. “That’s why I prefer to be on my side and not get involved with anybody.”

Bouquets of flowers circled a lamppost in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood, where a 34-year-old woman was mortally wounded in a shooting that also injured her husband earlier this week. Four blocks down the hill, more flowers wrapped in paper were arranged outside the couple’s restaurant, Aburiya Bento House. Eina Kwon, who was eight months pregnant, was shot alongside her husband while stopped in a car Tuesday morning at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Lenora Street, as they were presumably on their way to work. Kwon was rushed into surgery and her baby was delivered at Harborview Medical Center, where both died, according to a probable cause statement. Kwon’s husband, 37-year-old Sung Kwon, was shot in the arm and treated at Harborview. He’s since been released. Meanwhile, the shooter’s motivations remain unclear. Witnesses told Seattle police the shooting appeared to be unprovoked.

A Texas jury has awarded a woman $1.2bn (£944m) after ruling that she was the victim of revenge porn. The woman, who was named only by the initials DL in court documents, filed a harassment lawsuit against her former boyfriend in 2022. The suit alleged that he posted intimate pictures of her online to "publicly shame" her after a break-up. Her lawyers in the case said the settlement is a win for victims of "image-based sexual abuse". "While a judgment in this case is unlikely to be recovered, the compensatory verdict gives DL back her good name," said Bradford Gilde, the lead trial lawyer, in a statement. The lawyers had originally asked the jury for $100m in damages. "We hope the staggering amount of this verdict sends a message of deterrence and prevents others from engaging in this despicable activity," Mr Gilde added.

This is not surprising to anyone who has been paying attention. Portland has allowed far left radicals like Antifa to run wild with no consequences for years now.

A mother in the United States who used her apocalyptic religious beliefs to justify murdering two of her children and conspiring to kill her husband’s ex-wife has been sentenced to life in prison without parole. Idaho woman Lori Vallow was in May found guilty of killing her 16-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan and adopted seven-year-old son Joshua “JJ” Vallow. Vallow, whose case was the subject of the Netflix true-crime documentary series Sins of Our Mother, claimed to be a goddess tasked with ushering in the second coming of Jesus Christ. Judge Steven W Boyce on Monday handed down three consecutive life sentences due to the gravity of Vallow’s crimes, describing the murder of a child by a parent as “the most shocking thing really that I can imagine”. Boyce said Vallow had justified the killings by going down a “bizarre religious rabbit hole” from which she had yet to emerge. “I don’t think to this day you have any remorse for the effort and heartache you caused,” he said.
