Just FYI - only two candidates are normal, sane folks. Steve Elia, and Karen Keehn are both former teachers in Bishop schools. Steve Elia is a former teacher at Bishop High, who pioneered the AVID program (to support first-time college aspiring students). Karen Keehn (a former Olympian) taught for decades at Bishop Elementary, and helped start Playhouse 395, the local theater company. Steve Elia is also an incumbent, and has a ton of experience on school budgets, and how to maximize student achievement. I hope Steve and Karen get elected. The other two candidates are both MAGA culture warriors, and would only cause more COVID-era chaos, a la Moms for Liberty idiots. I hope they don't get in, as they're more concerned with obsessing over sex education, vaccine nonsense, and book banning.

This is my new boss. She's worked at Mono County Office of Education for 17 years, so I know her well. I think she'll do a good job, so I was happy with the appointment.

These three candidates are entirely normal, and NOT the ones you need to look out for. Jason interviews Karen Keehn and Steve Elia for school board. Both are former teachers IN the district, and are excellent candidates who volunteer throughout our community, and have for decades. For city council, Dennis Freundt, co-owner of the Bishop Grocery Outlet store, and is another perfectly sane candidate. I hope you hear what they have to say, and vote for sanity, and not some crazy idiot pushing conspiracies or culture-warrior BS.

BISHOP, Calif., September 9, 2023— Inyo National Forest timber management staff have made a special firewood collection area available within the Lakes Basin starting Monday, September 9 at 6:00 a.m. until the end of fuelwood collection season, or until the supply runs out.
She represents Inyo and Mono counties in the state legislature, and the incident reportedly happened while visiting Inyo county.

On Thursday, August 1, 2024, at about 6 pm, Inyo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a private residence on Whitney Portal Road in Lone Pine regarding an assault with a deadly weapon: a firearm. The reporting parties advised the suspect, identified as Kurtis Blake Meyer, age 43 from Costa Mesa, CA, was known to be in possession of multiple weapons and ammunition.
