Well it was pretty much just openly saying it.

Her YT channel was a mix of fairly long, sort of livestream clips of development progress and notes... and then just clips of her livestreams where she wasn't really developing and was just responding to chats, going off about political topics, 'white genocide' this, 'every democrat is a f@g communist' that, a whole bunch of other dogwhistles or overt references to memes and slogans of various extremist right wing militia type groups...

Also, for clarity, I am not talking about OP's link, I'm talking about some very obscure other person I found months ago. Much , much lower view/su count, not even monetized. Also unlike OP's link, this person actually wrote code instead of just having opinions about things.

There is a difference between being on the conservative side of a culture war and being balls deep into extremist right wing ideology.

At one point I was looking for some help with implementing something akin to UE's Metahumans but in Godot.

Somehow I stumbled across this one, single person on youtube who had a half decent implementation of what I was looking for...

... and after watching some other videos on her channel... yep, she's an open NeoNazi.

That was enough internet for me, that day.

I mean, I had Fallout New Vegas, Deus Ex, Squad, Humankind, some others.

I think in all my years on and off using Kippo I saw a single woman who listed FNV.

Never saw any for Deus Ex, for any shooter game that isn't a hero shooter, never any for a 4X...

I never once came close to finding someone with a similar taste for games as myself.

    Basically it would either be:

Twitch Girl who plays all the popular on Twitch games. Also does OnlyFans. Also is not looking for dates, just simps.

Awkward Shut In Girl who plays Stardew Valley and Pokemon and Animal Crossing. Only has pics of themselves in a hoody seemingly right after waking up, a bunch of their poorly drawn OCs, and a bunch of their pets. ....Waaay too many pets.

Random person who has only played like 3 games that are over 15 years old and hasn't updated their profile in seemingly 10 years, is never online. Has a decent selfie, a pic of either a bong or a 40, and another pic of some random place they were at a decade ago, seemingly taken either by accident or while drunk/high.

At one point it, like years ago, it was only kind of shitty...

Then 2 things happened around the same time:

Kippo decided to just abandon improving the actual profile/matching system, and decided to turn the app into basically habbo hotel. It does not work well, and they started monetizing more heavily to pay for developing this, stopped improving the dating profiles and matching completely.

    AND

Tons and tons of girls (18 or barely older) began becoming EGirls/TwitchThots, realizing being pretty and playing some popular game was a great way to get simps. Many, many of the profiles on Kippo now are just obviously this, with links to their Twitch or OnlyFans, only playing games that have huge audiences on Twitch.

It used to have a lot more genuine people on it.

Around 6 months ago I made a profile on Kippo, the 'gamer dating app'.

Because of the gaming centric focus, you either can't or have to pay money to filter by things that might actually make sense for a dating app (religion, political beliefs, do or do not want or have children etc)...

... But what everyone lists is their favorite games.

So I made some basic rules: Hard No for anyone who lists League or other games that are notorious for the extreme community toxicity.

... And LoL being a Nope filters out about 80% of people.

I no longer have a profile on Kippo.

So... one approach you could take would be to say anyone working a full time job should be able to afford a one bedroom apartment. You know, New Deal kind of ethos for the modern era.

    https://www.zillow.com/rental-manager/market-trends/united-states/?bedrooms=1

Ok, avg one bed rent ~= $1600 a month.

    $1600 * 3 = $4800 (1/3 rent to income ratio)

    $4800 / (40 hrs x 4 weeks) = $30 dollars an hour.

So yeah its actually worse than 'We've been arguing about $15 for so long its more like $25'.

Nope. Its $30 an hour. $62,400 a year.

Sure would be cool if we did literally anything to _actually_make housing more affordable.

(BTW 60% of working individual Americans make less than this)

AKA, I have a pre-existing worldview that provides me with some sense of identity, and that is more important than reality or truth.

This is 'cognitive bias' leading to 'cognitive dissonance' when you unconsciously or unintentionally believe in things that sound right but are later revealed to you to be false...

... And its called 'motivated reasoning' when you just actually consciously know that you're rejecting things that clash against your worldview.

Anyway all of this has been known by psychologists for what, 50+ years?

They just rarely explicitly state that this applies to political beliefs, even though there is no real scope limitation on what topic one can pick and choose acceptance or rejection on.

I suppose the only interesting part here is that people are now just en masse admitting they are fact-shunning hypocrites?

    Not... directly.

About a decade ago, I lived in a very small area, maybe half a mile in radius, with a pirate radio station, always playing amazing stuff I'd never heard anywhere before, ranging from soul to jazz to classical to electronica.

I had my suspicion that a nearby bodega owner was operating it. We'd talk about the station and its songs, and he seemed to know much more about it than anyone else in the neighborhood, but would always divert the conversation back to anonymous, general praise for what it played whenever I would indicate personal praise for whoever was running it.

Making this situation even more ridiculous was that this station's broadcast circumference overlapped with a fairly large airport.

Pretty sure if whoever was running it ever got caught they'd be looking at massive fines and/or prison time.

They consistently make promises for things that will exist in the future, which then takes them years beyond their expected timeframe to achieve, or just never do them because some other past promise or promise they will make later makes an original promise either totally unworkable or wildly different.

So, so many missed deadlines, which uh, actually were just aspirational.

And... this is a game that sells you ships, gear, for hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands of real world dollars.

Some crazy promise will be made and oh, turns out that means we have to rework something like half the game's systems to support that, but also they're adding new content constantly that is always in some limbo state between following the old system's paradigms and attempting to follow the new system's paradigm.

What you end up with is a constant state of everything being a bit broken, and a lot of stuff being completely broken.

Its less like a released game getting DLCs and more like an alpha test that just never ends.

Which, again, costs hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Jesus fucking christ, that was their fundamental approach?!

... Did they ever come anywhere close to a dynamic server model, with dynamically sized in game zones being handled by dynamically changing server clusters, dependant on player count in an area?

I remember making some comments in a thread in the main SC forums about it almost a decade ago that were basically to the effect of: that's almost certainly impossible to pull off with enough fidelity / low lag to actually work in a real time, absurdly open world shooter game,, but if they could pull it off it would basically be the greatest achievement in game networking history.

Probably pointless fact check for the non word salad part:

Elon has never landed anything on the moon.

    Further context:

Elon has received roughly $3 billion of taxpayer money before 2022 (and another $1.7 billion in 2022) to create a system capable (Starship + Heavy Booster) of delivering and returning humans to and from the moon by Q1 2025.

It was supposed to have conducted an orbital flight test in early 2022, and so far has only accomplished a few semi-successful suborbital flights, which have prompted Elon to downgrade the supposed mass to orbit capacity in half, from 100 to 50 tons, (proven cargo capacity so far is 0, even for suborbital), and state that there will now be a Starship/Heavy Booster 2 and 3, entirely new and untested rockets which appear nowhere in any of the government funding agreements.

In orbit refueling has not been demonstrated, Starship has not returned from orbit or suborbit or the moon or anywhere other than small test hops without exploding on impact or melting in reentry...

...when it should have completed an uncrewed Moon landing and return about 8 or 9 months ago, and by now should be human rated.

... And this is the person Trump wants to be in charge of finding and eliminating wasteful government spending.

So, a bit of discussion about a hypothetical me has spawned from this and I'll say some things here:

I am from the US, have mostly rented in the PNW.

I am aware that smoking is bad and can affect other people, and that idiots running grills can be very dangerous, but I'm old enough to remember when these used to be a major use case for residential balconies.

AFAIK, generally, you can still do these things if you own (or even rent) a house in a lower density area with a balcony or patio.

Hell, I've lived in places and with roommates who are entirely capable of nearly burning down an apartment complex by not knowing how to cook on the oven/range in their apartment, or by just smoking inside and woops that cigarette butt or spliff or joint missed the tray.

I'm not saying it should be the case that we ignore safety concerns in more dense housing, I'm more just pointing out that things which many people are used to be able to do on some kind of residential balcony are not actually doable as more and more people live in rentals.

As for clothes lines, decorations, hell in some places even public drinking of alcohol on a balcony all being technically legal to some extent but still being against a rental contract:

Surely you are aware that the landlord and property managers hold basically all the power in these situations unless you have the time and depth of pockets to legally challenge their usually illegal frivolous stipulations.

They can just fine you and threaten eviction or withhold your security deposit, and it will almost always be 5x to 10x less expensive to just accept this than to attempt to challenge it.

Hell, I have literally never received my security deposit back, anywhere I have ever rented, despite doing no actual 'damage' to the unit. They will always just invent some reason to withhold it.

... Anyway, my main drive here isn't that you should just be allowed to do whatever you want on an apartment balcony, its that these balconies are functionally useless to the renter due to them being designed as an afterthought to drive up rental costs, as well as having all kinds of functionally real restrictions unless you want to get into a legal fight with your landlord.

Basically, at a glance, the balconies are just scams, false advertising that looks like a neat bonus at first, but then you realize you can't actually do anything on them besides maybe sit on a chair on them, if one will even fit.

Elon Musk makes first appearance at Trump rally casting election in dire terms
    apnews.com

Billionaire tech executive Elon Musk cast the upcoming presidential election in dire terms during a Saturday appearance with Donald Trump, calling the Republican presidential nominee the only candidate “to preserve democracy in America.” The CEO of SpaceX and Tesla who also purchased X, Musk joined Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, where the former president survived an assassination attempt in July. He warned “this will be the last election” if Trump doesn’t win and, clad in a black-on-black cap bearing the “Make America Great Again” slogan of Trump’s campaign, appeared to acknowledge the foreboding nature of his remarks. “As you can see I am not just MAGA — I am Dark MAGA,” he said. The appearance marked the first time Musk joined one of Trump’s trademark rallies and represented the growing alliance between the two men in the final stretch of a competitive presidential election. Musk created a super PAC supporting the Republican nominee that has been spending heavily on get-out-the-vote efforts in the final months of the campaign. Trump has said he would tap Musk to lead a government efficiency commission if he regains the White House. Trump joined Musk in August for a rare public conversation on X, an overwhelmingly friendly chat that spanned more than two hours. In it, the former president largely focused on the July assassination attempt, illegal immigration and his plans to cut government regulations. Before a massive crowd on Saturday, Musk sought to portray Trump as a champion of free speech, arguing that Democrats want “to take away your freedom of speech, they want to take away your right to bear arms, they want to take away your fight to vote, effectively.” Musk went on to criticize a California effort to ban voter ID requirements. Saturday’s rally took place at the same property where a gunman’s bullets grazed Trump’s right ear and killed his supporter, Corey Comperatore. The shooting left multiple others injured. Several members of Comperatore’s family, as well as other attendees and first responders from the July rally, returned to the site on Saturday. Also appearing with the former president were his running mate Republican Ohio Sen. JD Vance, son Eric Trump, daughter-in-law and RNC co-chair Lara Trump, along with Pennsylvania lawmakers and sheriffs.

So, I do not follow Adin Ross, as he is an absolutely detestable idiot. However, occasionally he does something so stupid it makes its way over to me. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ylGNxR092Wc&pp=ygUdYWRpbiByb3NzIHNob290aW5nIGN5YmVydHJ1Y2s%3D 5 months ago, in late February, Adin Ross and a bunch of idiot, barely not children, friends, shot the shit out of his CyberTruck with an AR 15. To Adin's shock and dismay, this royally fucked up his lowpoly status symbol, with many shots going fully through. Adin can be heard and seen begging, demanding Elon send him a new one. Its completely absurd. Fast forward to today. Adin and XQC _presented Donald Trump with a wrapped CyberTruck as a gift._ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rffUumHMxrM&pp=ygUiYWRpbiByb3NzIGdpdmVzIHRydW1wIGEgY3liZXJ0cnVjaw%3D%3D Ok, so other media are pointing out how this is probably an illegal amount for a donation to a Presidential candidate, how Trump sitting down and doing a stream with multiple 'influencers' is extremely problematic for many reasons... But what I want to know is ... ... Is this a newly purchased CyberTruck? How could that be, given that the waitlist is huge? Did Elon _personally_ order Tesla to speedrun fixing up or replacing Adin's CyberTruck? Did XQC have one? ... Or did Adin Ross shoot the fuck out of a CyberTruck, get bits of it repaired, then wrap it in a wrap featuring the image of a triumphant Trump _having barely missed being headshot from an assasin_, and then _give a vehicle full of bullet holes, covered up by a cheap wrap, to Trump?_ I feel like I am losing my mind trying to comprehend the fractal layers of insane that would be to do. Does anyone who maybe knows more about Adin or XQC know more details? I really, really want it to be the case that I exist in a universe where something so profoundly stupid did not actually occur.

You could probably make a poptarts are sandwiches alignment style thing out of this. Basically, any video game with an explicit goal, or set of goals is just a puzzle game with extra steps. What buttons do you push, when do you push them, what does this accomplish, how does that lead you to your end goal, etc. You could even argue that multiplayer tactics constitute a puzzle, a more social puzzle. Yes, this is reductive, but this is a dumb showerthoughts post.

This is just a question. In case you don't know, motion matching is the term for animating characters... basically in a way that smoothly blends minor and even major animations into each other, such that characters are animated much closer to life. It is most notable in scenarios where a character rotates their axis of movement dramatically, or speeds up or stops suddenly. Instead of the more old school instant rotation or sudden transition from running to stationary, you get a dynamic and procedural animation. Perhaps most notably, feet and legs actually take steps, instead of gliding, during transitions. It is _not_ the same as inverse kinematics. That basically just matches feet and legs to the geometry they are standing on, for stairs or inclines. (You can use it with arms for things like adjusting arms during arm anims to better match individual weapons or other things, etc.) Unity, Unreal and O3DE all have freely available motion matching plugins, and I know Unreal and O3DE have freely available prepackaged humanoid animation libraries. Unity probably does as well, though more expansive anim sets cost some money. So... question is: Is motion matching even possible in Godot? Is there some plugin hidden in GitHub or somewhere that does this? From what I've been able to figure out... the YMAA project... _apparently?_ claimed to be working on this, but their repo has not been updated in months, their current release does not even have half the features they show off on their youtube channel, and they appear to now be making a machinima or something so who knows. That is all I have really been able to find. A few other github devs and youtube channels have extremely rudimentary procedural animation in demos, but either they have not listed their code anywhere or its been abandoned for months or years, sometimes since before Godot 4. So yeah, anyone know if there is a Godot Motion Matching plugin?
